Hunter Aldon always assumed she was a very bright person. Most of the time this was true. But the current situation was making her feel a little dumb. Here she was in a guarded room, bandaged up, and sitting across the table from one of the two men she knew could tell her what exactly had happened just a few days ago. Underneath a headband and a mess of red hair daggers were being glared at her victim.
She knew she was in control of the situation. There were three guards just outside the door. One of which was Jacob himself. Who was still being quiet over the event. Hunter slipped her robe off and hung it on the back of the chair. A small smirk appeared for a second as the Inquisitorial Squad badge shined in the light of all the various candles. It was just a further reminder that she was the in control of this situation. She had the power here.
She pushed her hair out of her face. But thanks to the bandage still wrapped around her skull this took quite a bit of effort. Her mind was trying to place pieces together. But nothing really made sense. All she knew was that it had been days since she woke up with a mind-numbing headache that had just today been bearable. It was time to start the interrogation.
"Listen up, Isaiah. I need to know what happened the other day. Why I have this wound on my head. Why my arms are so scratched up. Why every fiber of my being tells me you and your brother are responsible. And if you even think about lying to me, or withholding the truth, I will make you regret the day you came to this school. Understand?" Hunter announced and leaned back in her chair and started drumming her manicured fingers on the table. "Now, Mister Young. Start talking."

Isaiah Young sat across from a very confused, and obviously very frustrated Hunter Aldon. He hadn't seen her since the day of the brutal attack, at least not in such a close proximity, surely he had the misfortunes of passing her in the halls when venturing off to class. But at those times he tried not to make eye contact with her, even though Isaiah himself had forgiven her treacherous acts she had set against him. After all, if it had not been for Hunter and her little posse of babbling bafoons he would have never gained in the insight and introspect that laying in that damn hospital wing had given him. Instead of anger, Hunter deserved his gratitude and kindness. That would surely blow her mind.
But those were the acts that were accosted upon Isaiah. The attacks she placed on his twin though, those were a completely different story and wouldn't be as easily forgiven. This was why Zaiah held a smug look of reproach on his healing face as she belted out her little inner monologue to him; after all, Hunter would surely have to pay for somethings in karma, wouldn't she?
The Inquisitorial Squad had been making its rounds about the student population, and Zaiah just happened to be picked and then given to Hunter for a little "interview", being muggleborn and all. Somehow he really doubted that any of this was by chance though, not as she listed a barrage of questions at him that had obviously been sweltering around her mind since right after the incident. Had she honestly not remembered? Wouldn't her daft older brother have filled her in on the very obnoxious details of exactly what had went down? This had all seemed to brilliant to be true.
"Blimey Hunter, would you ever think me to be a liar?" He asked, cocking his head to the side as he leaned back in his chair. Debating over whether or not he should indulge her inquires right away, or let her sit and steam, Zaiah smiled curtly at her to watch as she squirmed. As horrible as he had looked (and still felt) the past few days, at least he wasn't suffering from a short term memory loss. Not like this little poisonous imp. No, unfortunately he remembered every single detail of their altercation, every ounce of hate, every drop of blood, every sound of broken bone.
Isaiah reached into his pocket, his eyes still focused on the the girl across from him, feeling a twinge of guilt at the bandage that wrapped around her skull. That was a part he wasn't too sure about, if it had been him or Mason that landed her the head trauma, but at this point, had it really mattered? "Here." Fingers wrapped around a small white handkerchief, pulling it from out of his pocket and tossing it carelessly at the Hunter, watching as the light material hovered and wavered in the air before landing on the table between them. "Since you gave away yours, I've brought you another."

Isaiah's smugness was wearing on Hunter's nerves. She was the one in charge here. How dare he act so innocent. He and his brother were the soul causes of her injuries. Not to mention they could probably be blamed for all the odd looks she was getting recently. Some kind of nasty rumor they were spreading. Hunter was even more determined to solve this. If she had to use a the resources the Inquisitorial Squad had presented her, she was going to get to the bottom of it. And make sure those responsible (being Mason and Isaiah) paid.
But his smugness continued. It was starting to get insulting. "No, I doubt you have the skill or wit it takes to lie properly, Young" she spat and glared across the table. If looks were capable of killing, Isaiah would be bursting into flames right about now. Bursting into flames and getting stabbed. Stabbed by more fire. Then the real pain would start.
She continued to just glare at Isaiah. Daring him to try something. To give her an excuse to get Jacob, Crabbe, and Goyle in here to unleash a world of hurt on him. Her mind was slowly putting details together. Very slowly. And what details she could remember, weren't helping Isaiah's case any. In fact, it was only making her mind that much more boggled.
One thing she couldn't figure out was his smile. Hunter was convinced he hated her guts. But yet here he was. Treating this like it was bloody tea time. But it was at the handkerchief that it really hit home. She wasn't exactly sure what she remembered. But she could recall one just like that, covered in blood. With a high pitched growl she stood up and sent her chair toppling to the ground.
She could almost feel her mind starting to go in some rather unsafe directions. But Hunter willed that thought process to stop. She wouldn't allow her mind to slip into some kind of madness when the source of all the answers sat right there in front of her. Hunter was also less than pleased at that piece of cloth. To her it represented all the confusion and frustration in her life surrounding that brutal day her mind chose to hide from her. The frustration formed small tears in her brown eyes. Without warning, and without thought, she reached over and slapped Isaiah across the face with, given her un-athletic body, incredible velocity.
She stood there for a second and admired her handy work. She fought away every other urge that appeared. From pulling out her wand to retreating to the corner in a mess of tears. "Isaiah! I am not afraid to make this a very bad time for you. Understand? I want answers" she barked, trying her hardest to sound threatening. The only noise that escaped her mouth was a quiet grow followed by an angry plea "I
need
answers"

The slap she had administered stung hard and Zaiah was pretty sure it was going to leave a mark that would most likely remain there for the better portion of the day (his twin was going to flip out at that he was sure). Yet even through her evident melt down that was forming before his very eyes, he didn't waiver with his smile, just simply turned the other cheek and pointed to it with his finger. "You missed a side."
He knew he was toying with danger, he knew that if Mason was here he would have been all over that girl like white on rice for having laid a hand on him, but Issy had a different approach to the whole debacle. If you couldn't beat them at war, kill them with kindness, and that was the exact tactic he was ensuing upon little miss Hunter Aldon. That and deep down he really wanted to thank her, but he wasn't quite sure how she would have handled such a compliment quite yet. "We all deserve answers Hunter, wouldn't you agree?"
Still with his unslapped cheek forward, he leaned up in his chair and rested his forearms on the table that was thankfully still between them. Watching her carefully from her corner, he felt a twinge of guilt overcome him as the tears formulated in the creases of her eyes. Isaiah hadn't wanted to make the bloody girl cry, that was never in his nature to cause someone else grief, he just wanted her to feel some of her sanity slip from beneath her grasp. Maybe he had underestimated the situation, perhaps Hunter was more unstable that he had given her credit for. Isaiah would make sure to save a prayer later for her, for she needed them much more right now than he did.
Ignoring her threats that she would indeed harm him further than she already had (and at this point, what was that really short of, killing him?), Zaiah smiled at her, reaching for his wand and flicking it at her chair, placing it right side up on the other side of the table. "You should come back and sit with me, violence never solved anything. You should know that by now."
Knowing full well that there were three guys outside of that room that could take him, not to mention the incurable wrath of the bandaged girl before him, Isaiah was taking quite a chance trying to be civil at all with her. He knew he would have been against Mason's wishes to be treating her with such strange kindness, and from his twins point of view Zaiah completely understood. It was the reason why he hadn't divulged any of the incident towards her, at least not when she was going to sit there and demand it of him. He didn't fair well with demands on any level. "We'll trade. I ask a question, you give an answer, then you can ask and I'll answer. Otherwise, we can just sit here exchanging quips and slaps until the sun goes down, no matter to me. I'm happy either way."

Missed a Side?! How dare he be so arrogant
Hunter's internal dialogue was raging. Isaiah's arrogance was easily the most infuriating thing she had ever come across. She clenched her fist so tightly her finger nails were threatening to pierce the skin. She wanted to just light into him. Just let whatever monster that was inside her loose on him. But that wouldn't solve it. There would still be no questions answered.
Without saying anything else she walked away from the table. Out of arms reach. She didn't trust herself not to adjust the cheek Isaiah claims she missed. Hunter could admit that with her small frame she wasn't really all that physically imposing. But she was a witch after all. The wood in her pocket said she didn't need to be. A few choice hexes and he'll think twice before acting so freaking smug.
Her feet carried her back and fourth. Hunter paced like a caged animal across the empty room. She couldn't grasp why he was so happy. He should have been fuming. Or terrified. Or at least annoyed at how hard she slapped him. Was he really so caring and selfless? No! It was some ploy. She just knew it. He was trying to get to her. Trying to make her feel safe so he could brake her down. She would not cry for him. It was probably some kind of fetish. The sick freak.
Isaiah's offer was far from what Hunter wanted to do. She wanted to tell him to go to hell and shove a truth potion down his throat. But that wasn't legal here in the school. Damnit, she was an authority figure here. Could he not respect that? Did she really seem so weak that he could play games with her? Hunter huffed and slowly removed the bandage from around her head.
The red headed witch sulked back over to the table and dropped the bandage carelessly on the floor. With a very quiet whine she sat down in the magically corrected chair and just stared at Isaiah. She wanted so badly to take charge of this situation. To convince herself she was control here. If nothing, it gave her the presence of mind to keep her emotions in control. "Fine. I'll play your game. But if this starts going in an unsavory direction, I won't hesitate to call them in," Hunter was unsure of how much credibility she had left with Isaiah. She was trying to make what little was left count. "So...what do you want to know?"

Isaiah watched her with the gazing eyes of a vulture just waiting for its prey to fall victim to the hot midday sun. There was no way she was going to be able to resist his offer, because in some fashion he was breaking away at the hard exterior Hunter had falsely built up around herself. Was this turning into a game of manipulation? Possibly, but Issy hadn't fully recognized his immediate effect of the girl, honestly only handling the situation the way he deemed fit. Then again, the same bible that told him to turn the other cheek also advised an eye for an eye. Watching her melt down may have just been her fictional eye in his fictional grasp.
Turning so his face was starring at her full on, rather than with his unharmed cheek taunting her presence, Isaiah welcomed her back into her seat with a light hearted smile. It was obvious by this point that she had lost the control of the interrogation, it may as well have been Zaiah who had called upon this little meeting rather than herself. If only Mason could see him now, his twin never would have believed that his older half was capable of such a presence. Not Isaiah, with his typical reserved personality and less than assertive stance, it was such the opposite of the imposing features and boisterous voice of brother.
Impressed with his skills of apparent control (of which he never knew he contained) he was finally able to throw on his quizzically curious face, leaning onto the table as he spoke in a sharpened tone. "You want to know what I want to know? You seriously have to ask that? What do you think I'm going to inquire about, the damn weather?" Another cheerless smirk overtook his features, leaning back in the uncomfortable wooden chair as it creaked beneath his weight.
Surely this little red headed bitch didn't think he was going to ask her about her favorite recipe for cupcakes, and then threaten him on top of it! "No need to make threats you can't keep, calling them back in here to take care of little old me would just show how weak you really are, now wouldn't it? I doubt you want that out in the open." The last thing he was sure of was that she would want them (those stupid males she clung to as if they were the gods of the school) to see her distressed like this, which for Zaiah to make a mental note of was rather apparent. Clearing his throat, he starred at her straight in the eyes before speaking again.
"Why me Hunter? Why did you and your little posse of deplorable ingrates decide to break my face and crack my ribs, other than for the sole reason it give you all some sort of perverse sense of empowerment." It almost didn't sound like it was Isaiah talking at all, the calm yet demanding inflection in his voice was more forceful than he had ever had before, but he was not budging on his need to know what the hell was going on in this insane girl's mind.

WEAK?!
Hunter's very core was insulted. Sure she was small physically. But she was a surgeon with a wand, if she did say so herself. Not to mention she controlled the walking army known as Jacob. Issiah was crossing dangerous lines. Hunter did not take kindly to insults like weak being thrown around. It was then a little something went off in her head. It almost sounded like she was talking to herself. But it wasn't her. This second voice was full of malice and blood-lust.
He stepped out of line. Show him what real strength really is
The red head quickly looked around the room with pure confusion. "Young, did you hear that?" she asked and looked at him for a second hoping he knew what she was talking about. But then logic hit her. "...of course you didn't" She sighed and leaned back. This was a very bad time to start going crazy. She had an interrogation to finish. She was going to need a vacation after this. Considering she got the answers she needed to let her mind rest.
She gave Isiah the continued gift of her ear as he talked and pleaded his case. But things didn't add up. His injuries couldn't have been that bad. It wasn't right. it was that other boy who got involved. Cadillac or whatever his name was. Her orders were simple. Just a little blood. Lip or nose. Nothing big. This wasn't right. If what he said was true, that was the work of a monster. The work of somebody cable of those kinds of wounds was not somebody Hunter could accept she was.
"No...that's not right. You must be exaggerating,"
He's not!
"I didn't want you hurt. Just needed a dab of blood. You'd do worse if you hit yourself with the door..."
Wrong! You almost killed him!
"Shut up!"
At this point she screamed and covered her face with her hands.
Now! Finish the job!
"No! I'm not like that! I don't hurt people. Not really. I'm no monster!" She growled into her hands and used her every once of willpower to fight this little 'fit' off and removed her hands to glare directly at Isaiah. "You! What did you do to me?"
