Distinguishing Features: Foxy hair. Scar under her left eye. Right nostril piercing, usually with a small steel hoop or stud in it. Two tattoos? On her left shoulder, a Sailor Jerry-style heart and swallow (in this case a Cornish Chough) with ?One and All? written across the banner. Low on her right hip, a golden snitch.
Attire: Her closet is a clash between tomboy and tart. Day?athletic basics, t-shirts, leggings, plaid flannel, ripped black jeans. Night?tight dresses, low-cut shirts, miniskirts, exposed garter belt straps, sunglasses, kitty ears.
Other: Ariadne has vulpine eyes and a leggy, athletic figure. Her lightly freckled complexion is marred by a crescent-shaped scar just below her left eye, which marks where a bludger split her cheek open early in her professional career. During the day, Ariadne can usually be found in athletic clothing, with her hair tied back and her shapely bust oppressed by a sports bra. For nights on the town, she trades her t-shirts in for low-cut tops and skyscraper hemlines, paints on sultry make-up, and lets down her naturally wavy hair, which hangs a little past her shoulders.

        Personality

Best Qualities: Confident, honest, passionate, talented quidditch player, quick
Worst Qualities: Reckless, obnoxious, obsessive, promiscuous, pushy, unrefined

Dislikes: Losing, criticism, snow, polka dots, being told that she has an ?attitude problem?
Pet Peeves: Hangnails, broomsticks with loose handling, splintery broomstick shafts
Overview: Ariadne is a hard worker and tends to attack her passions with an intensity that is difficult to rival. Generally charismatic and generous, she has the makings of an excellent role model, so it is unfortunate that she is an out of control prima donna. She is outgoing, but uncomfortable with emotional intimacy. Instead, she tends to express herself through partying and a volatile temper, which has nearly made the tabloid fodder that is her personal life more noteworthy than her work on the quidditch pitch.

If she had a motto, it would be ?work hard, play hard.? During quidditch season, her days are governed by a series of superstitious, borderline obsessive routines, which serve to keep her career goals in focus. About ninety percent of her life revolves around quidditch, the rest is wasted on booze and casual sex. Having had a humble upbringing in a rural area, Nee took to her extravagant salary like a preteen to a first cup of coffee. She parties year-round, but her antics usually aren't as spectacular as the tabloids make them seem. Even so, her thick file at the Ministry of Magic contains write-ups for everything from drunk and disorderly behavior to destruction of public property.

Family: Nee tells herself that she will be mother material... eventually

        History

Family History
The Nixons are an ordinary wizarding family in all ways but one: they tend to intentionally intermarry with muggles. This is rooted in a deep fear of inbreeding and a general interest in keeping up-to-date with muggle progress. Perhaps the Nixons' greatest claim to fame is that several members have contributed significantly to the field of muggle studies. Marrying muggles is a common, normal, and in some ways encouraged practice among the Nixons, but it is also perfectly acceptable for Nixons to marry into other wizarding families (if said families would allow such a thing).

The Penberthys are a fairly ancient, muggle-sympathetic Cornish family of lower-middle class standing. They are neither prominent nor unknown, and are generally content to be farmers. It's typical for each Penberthy to spawn five or more children. They are a huge yet fairly close-knit bunch and a yearly family reunion at Ariadne's great uncle Piran's farm (formerly her great great uncle Cubert's farm) is a tradition that stretches back for at least two centuries.

The Brocks are a humble Cornish pureblood estate that claims to be descended from Helga Hufflepuff. Conveniently, there are no records to prove this, but their claim generally goes unchallenged; if what is said about pureblood families is true, the Brocks could claim ties to just about anyone and be correct, somewhere in the foggy annals of history.

The Wallaces are an unremarkable wizarding family.

Jonah Nixon and Tamsin Penberthy first met at Hogwarts, but they got to know each other while working entry-level positions at the Ministry of Magic. They married after a few years of dating, and settled down in rural Cornwall, their mutual home. Their first two children, Daphne and Corin, were born within a year of each other. After welcoming two more sons, Arthur and Tristan, and a second daughter, Ariadne, into the world, Jonah and Tamsin decided that their family was complete. Mother nature must have had had other plans, because three years later, Graham was born. The Nixon litter was by-and-large raised by their grandparents so that both parents could continue to work, but even with two salaries, money was spread thin. The family lived comfortably, if modestly.

Individual History
Nee began playing quidditch early in life, and was proudly encouraged to excel in it by her parents. Her beginnings were humble? a spacious backyard in a rural community in Cornwall, one makeshift goal, and a broomstick and quaffle that had both seen many better days. Her older brothers were usually willing to play, but she often practiced alone for hours at a time. By the time she turned eleven and received her Hogwarts letter, Ariadne was already a confident player, capable of competing at a higher level than most first years. She was sorted into Hufflepuff and accepted it with indifference. As a first year she couldn't try out for her house team, but she made a point of showing up for practices anyway, and after a while they stopped telling her to go away and allowed her to participate.

She tried out for the Hufflepuff quidditch team in her second year, made it, and quickly earned a reputation as a talented, if hot-headed, chaser. Her school years were defined by quidditch, and to a lesser extent, by an impressive list of flings and several relationships that ended with her infidelity. Nee graduated from Hogwarts with barely an ?Acceptable? in just about every subject that she took, and shortly afterward signed a lucrative contract with the Montrose Magpies. She rose straight to stardom from there, simultaneously earning accolades for her athletic performance and criticism for her progressively ?out of control? personal life. Nee is a notorious party-goer, and shows off her middle fingers so often that it is a popular discussion topic on Quidditch talk radio as to whether or not they should be amputated.

In short, Nee's quidditch career has been successful, but also nothing short of gold for wizarding world tabloids. She played for the English National Team in the run-up to the 1994 Quidditch Cup; shortly after having their dreams of the finals dashed by Luxemburg, Ariadne was arrested for drunkenly vandalizing public property with a brand new Cleansweep 11 broomstick. Since the only thing actually destroyed in the episode was the broomstick, her brother Arthur was able to argue her sentence down to a fine, but she has only recently recovered from the media storm.

Following the incident, the Cleansweep Broom Company spared no time in dropping her sponsorship, but the Comet Trading Company happily swooped in to replace them (?for smashing the competition!?). At the start of the current season, the Montrose Magpies chose to trade Ariadne to the Falmouth Falcons, a team with more of a budget set aside for legal fees. This news was bittersweet. Returning to Cornwall to play for her home team is a dream come true, but being dismissed from the Magpies was a blow to her pride.

While she scouts around the area for a more permanent residence, Nee is living the rock star life in a Falmouth hotel. The rumor mill is at peak operation.

        Other

Pet: Perdita, a female English bull terrier.

? She generally splits the off-season between London and the C?te d'Azur.

? Ariadne's Cobblestone Way residence in London came furnished with a female house-elf named Radish. Radish has enormous gray-green eyes and a sunny, though timid, disposition. Nee was initially uncomfortable with the situation and tried to free Radish, but the house-elf begged her not to. She has since warmed up to having the helpful little creature around, and likes to buy pretty tea cozies for her to wear.

I've rewritten most of Ariadne's profile, hopefully it's better than it was. With respect to content, some minor details have been added and/or changed, none of which should affect ongoing or previous threads.
